How do I create a domain alias, or point one domain name to another website with a different domain name?
How do I create a domain alias, or point one domain name to another website with a different domain name?
Solution
Would you like to host a website at Dataride called mywebsite.com, and have mycoolwebsite.com bring up the same content as mywebsite.com without hosting and managing two seperate websites? It sounds like you need to create a domain alias.
The option you are looking for is a 'Domain Alias'. It is listed in the Domain Menu of the HELM control panel for your domain.
Here are instructions:
1) Click on 'Domain Alias' from your domain menu in HELM
2) Click 'Add New'
3) Enter the alias domain name which you would like to resolve to the hosted domain
4) Click 'Save'
5) Be sure to point the name servers for the alias domain registration to ns1.dataride.com & ns2.dataride.com
